All your diving tools in one place

One app, all the tools. Designed with high contrast, large buttons, and quick actions. An app designed to be used between dives, on boats, under the sun, with wet fingers.

Principles

A tool to be used on the boat

In Glaring Sun

The UI should be big clear and easy to see in glaring sunlight on lower brightness. Opt for high contrast and big buttons and text

Under 30 Seconds

A diver should be able to achieve basic tasks in less than 30 seconds

With Your Thumbs

The core features can be used with simple clicks and no gestures. Allowing divers to do what they need to even between dives with slightly wet thumbs

Why another dive app?

I believe there's a big gap in digital tooling for divers. We have amazing hardware yet outdated software. I decided I want to build the dive app I've always wished we had in our pockets. Fast, easy to use, clean design, and with all the tools and features I'd want when out on the boat or planning my dives.

How's this different from Multi-deco/Baltic/etc.?

There are plenty of apps in the market, with solid functionality. What they're all lacking is an intentionally thought out design. Their designs are outdated or not comfortable to use. Also many of them have yet to innovate in what they provide. Skuba aims to bring strong design principles in from day 1. And be a single home for all those tools.

Is the app free?

My monetization goal is to have most offline features free for everyone. I do intend to add a one-off payment to unlock decompression planning and gas blending. As for the online based features, I intend to find alternative ways to monetize off of vendors and dive shops rather than the users, keeping the services open and available to everyone.

Can I contribute?

I'd love to hear your thoughts, ideas, and input! If you have a feature in mind, or are a designer and would like to help improve the design of the app, please feel free to reach out. If you'd like to help promote the app, I'd also appreciate all the help I can get.

When will the Android app become available?

The Android app should become available within the next 2 weeks. I'm currently going through the Play Store approval process.
